NHDSC and Beef Checkoff Promote New, Trendy Recipes for National Bologna Day

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) celebrated National Bologna Day, October 24, in partnership with the Beef Checkoff, showcasing bologna's classic deliciousness with innovative, new chef-developed recipes that show how trendy bologna can be. The recipes included:

In addition, the NHDSC featured results from consumer polling showing that only 35 percent of Americans know that bologna is a type of sausage. Polling also found the classic bologna on white bread sandwich is most popular with consumer, as 70 percent of bologna eaters say slices on bread are one of their favorite ways to enjoy bologna . National Bologna Day was heavily promoted in social media, generating 20 million impressions over the course of the week.
