The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is requesting comments on a proposed information collection titled "Survey on the Occurrence of Foodborne Illness Risk Factors in Selected Institutional Foodservice and Retail Food Stores Facility Types." The survey is intended to assist FDA with developing retail food safety initiatives and policies focused on controlling foodborne illness risk factors; identifying retail food safety work plan priorities and allocating resources to enhance retail food safety nationwide; and tracking changes in the occurrence of foodborne illness risk factors in retail and foodservice establishments over time. The results will help inform FDA's recommendations to the retail and foodservice industry and to state, local, tribal and territorial regulatory professionals to reduce the occurrence of foodborne illness risk factors. Public comments are due by September 4, 2018.
