Environment: Optimize Contributions to Healthy Land, Air and Water


Producing the meat, poultry, eggs and dairy needed using less land, water and energy has never been more important. Through the Protein PACT, Meat Institute is making transparency and accountability the baseline for doing business across the meat industry. Meat Institute’s sustainability framework creates the first-ever industry-wide data framework, a bold and necessary advancement toward harmonizing the way companies measure, report and verify progress on all aspects of sustainability. That is why the Meat Institute will support members in setting greenhouse gas reduction targets to be approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), which independently assesses and approves companies’ targets in line with its strict criteria.
