The Dietary Guidelines for Americans

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) serve as the basis for federal nutrition policy and communications and are required by law to be updated at least every five years. The process to update the current DGA to the 2025-2030 edition is underway.

The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) will conduct a review of the scientific evidence on prioritized questions through early 2024 and provide recommendations to the Departments of Agriculture (USDA)and Health and Human Services (HHS).

Meat Institute continues to work with USDA, HHS and coalitions representing several segments of the food industry as the Dietary Guidelines are developed and implemented.
