FSIS Issues Advanced Copy of Notice Confirming Testing for STEC in Raw Beef Manufacturing Trimmings on June 4Tuesday, May 29, 2012

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS or the agency) today posted an advance copy of the notice, "Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli in Certain Raw Beef Products” (Docket no. FSIS-2010-0023)," which has been submitted to the Office of the Federal Register. The official notice will be published in the May 31 Federal Register.
This notice provides the response to comments on the Final Determination notice, the planned implementation for testing raw beef manufacturing trimmings as well as announcing the finalization of the Risk Profile for Pathogenic Non-O157 Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli (non-O157 STEC).
