FSIS Issues Export Certification Directive

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a directive instructing inspection program personnel (IPP) about export certification requirements for meat and poultry products. The directive provides updated information and instructions for IPP regarding the review of export applications, export certificates and supplemental documents. The directive also details product re-inspection and export verification requirements and explains procedures for issuing replacement certificates. In addition, the directive describes FSIS responsibilities at establishments operating under an Export Verification/Quality Systems Assessment Program.
