(North American Meat Institute)

The Meat Institute last week debuted a new website, IChooseMeat.com, to assist those whose offices are restricting access to meat in the workplace. Among the new and humorous resources are helpful lists including “Top Ten Ways to Sneak Meat Into the Office” and “Best Excuses to Get Out of Your Office’s Meatless Lunch.” IChooseMeat.com features a guide to different cuts of meat and how to cook them, and a thorough product center detailing prepared meat choices that fit nutrition profiles such as low/reduced fat, low/reduced sodium, natural, organic and American Heart Association Certified. It also offers resources addressing meat myths including many of the prominent myths about meat’s environmental impact. The resources can be used in any setting – companies, schools and others – that are facing pressure to remove or limit meat as a menu choice. The Meat Institute is sharing these new resources in social media, and encourages members to help spread the word about these materials. Members are reminded to sign up for the Meat Institute’s social sharing center, a platform allowing members to sign up to receive social media posts that can be easily shared on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Instagram with the tap of a button.
