National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods to Hold Public Meeting

The National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods (Committee) will hold public meetings of the full Committee and subcommittees August 7-10, 2018, in Washington, DC. The Committee will discuss and adopt effective Salmonella control strategies for poultry and virulence factors and attributes that define foodborne Shiga Toxin-producing E. coli as severe human pathogens. The Committee also will discuss two new charges: 1) the use of water in animal slaughter and processing and 2) the appropriate product testing procedures and criteria to verify process control for microbial pathogens or appropriate indicator organisms in ready-to-eat foods under the Food and Drug Administration’s jurisdiction.
