Trade Data Through April 2018 Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through April 30, 2018, is now available . Beef and pork export volume and value were higher than a year ago, and pork export volume set a new record. Beef export value increased 20 percent compared to 2017 levels, while pork export value rose nine percent compared to the same period in 2017. Total beef export volume increased 10 percent compared to 2017, while total pork export volume rose four percent over 2017 levels. U.S. beef exports to China/Hong Kong rose 23 percent in volume and 51 percent in value compared to 2017, while beef exports to South Korea increased 31 percent in volume and 45 percent in value. In addition, U.S. pork exports to South Korea rose significantly compared to 2017 levels, increasing 44 percent in volume and 55 percent in value, respectively.
