Meat Institute Grassroots Letter Underscores Support for NAFTA, Doud ConfirmationTuesday, January 16, 2018
(North American Meat Institute)
The Meat Institute last week sent members a grassroots letter expressing strong support for the successful renegotiation of a modernized North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and urging the swift Senate confirmation of Gregg Doud as chief agricultural negotiator in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. The letter, which can be customized with company-specific information, underscores the economic benefits of NAFTA to the meat industry, details key renegotiation priorities and emphasizes the importance of confirming Doud to ensure favorable trade agreements that increase market access for U.S. meat exports.
Meat Institute members received a link to the letter and can also access it here. Members can customize the letter before sending it to their senators. Information about the members' senators will automatically populate based on the zip code entered at the time their profile is created.
