Trade Data Through July 2017 Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through July 31, 2017, is now available. Beef and pork export values were both above 2016 totals. Beef export value increased 15 percent compared to 2016 levels, while pork export value rose 13 percent compared to the same period in 2016. Total beef and pork export volumes also both increased compared to 2016 figures. Beef export volume rose 11 percent, while pork export volume increased 10 percent compared to 2016 totals. U.S. beef exports to Japan showed significant growth, increasing 22 percent in volume and 28 percent in value compared to the same period in 2016. In addition, U.S. pork exports to Colombia and Chile rose markedly compared to 2016 levels, increasing 83 percent and 181 percent in volume, respectively.
