FSIS Announces First Country Group for PHIS Export Component

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) will implement the Public Health Information System (PHIS) Export Component for 19 countries on June 29, 2018. Additional countries will be added incrementally. In 2016, FSIS issued a final rule establishing an electronic export application and certification system for meat, poultry and egg products. PHIS Export Component Group 1 includes Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Andorra, Bahamas, Bolivia, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cook Islands, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, Mozambique, Paraguay, San Marino, Tanzania and Uganda. Initially, only meat and poultry products will be included in the PHIS Export Component.
