Meat Institute Encourages Members to Share Information about Participation in OSHA Inaugural Safe and Sound Week

The Meat Institute is encouraging members who participated in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) inaugural Safe + Sound Week, June 12 - 18, to document their activities and experiences by completing a short survey on OSHA's website. Companies that complete the survey will receive a certificate and web badge in recognition of their participation in Safe + Sound Week events. In addition to communicating their activities to OSHA, members should send a brief note about their participation in the week's events to Director of Worker Safety and Human Resources Hank Bongers . The Meat Institute will discuss these experiences at the July 18 Worker Safety Committee meeting in Washington, D.C.

OSHA's Safe + Sound Week was part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness and understanding of proactive safety and health programs in the workplace. The Meat Institute partnered with OSHA to co-sponsor the week's
