FSIS Issues Instructions to IPP Regarding Completion of Labeling Claims Questionnaire

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a notice instructing inspection program personnel (IPP) in establishments that produce raw ground beef products, raw chicken parts and ready-to-eat (RTE) products to complete the “Labeling Claims Questionnaire” in the Public Health Information System by June 5, 2017. The questionnaire collects information on certain labeling claims made on products to direct future sampling efforts designed to verify that the claims are truthful and not misleading. IPP have an hour of official time to read the notice and complete the questionnaire.
