A memorandum developed by the law firm Hogan Lovells details changes outlined in a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notice that provides three types of waivers from the requirements of the Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food rule. FDA expanded and clarified the scope of the waivers for companies operating under the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, food establishments that provide food directly to consumers and companies operating under the Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference's National Shellfish Sanitation Program. The notice is the first substantive food-related policy issued by the new administration. For more information about the different waivers, click here.
