AMI Expo To Feature Impressive Slate Of Education Sessions Addressing Industry's Top PrioritiesFriday, February 24, 2012
Washington, D.C. — Those looking for real solutions, insights and “best practices” regarding the industry’s top priorities can find the answers they are looking for at the AMI Meat, Poultry & Seafood Industry Convention and Exposition, May 1-3, 2012, at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
AMI Expo will feature more than 20 sessions designed to provide the high-quality education and advanced skills that are critical for innovation and business success.
Areas of focus include food safety, operation management and consumer trends.
Participants in the food safety track will benefit from sessions addressing control strategies for Listeria monocytogenes, non-0157:H7 Shiga Toxin-producing E.coli and Salmonella. Sessions also include a regulatory update and lessons learned from a recall.
The operation management track will include presentations on sanitation and maintenance for the meat and poultry industry, capital equipment justification, packaging for operations success, product lifecycle management and development of interventions for equipment.
Topics addressed in the consumer trends track will include best new products, niche markets, the Power of Meat survey, using the consumer decision tree in new product strategies and sodium reduction and its implications for new products.
In addition to these tracks, the AMI Expo will also feature “Meat Tech” presentations prepared by exhibitors on operational issues critical to all aspects of meat, poultry and seafood processing. These exhibitor generated presentations were a great success in 2011, creating a buzz on the floor and providing exhibiting companies and their customers additional opportunities for education, networking and discussion regarding specific topics. Technical, non-sales session descriptions are submitted by exhibiting suppliers, reviewed by AMI members and technical staff and presented by the scientific and technical experts from the exhibiting companies. Presentations are selected on technical merit and on a first come first served basis.
The 20-minute sessions will be held on the show floor, during show hours, not conflicting with the education sessions provided by AMI. This allows more visibility for attendees and exhibitors.
