AMI to Host 2012 Expo Exhibitor Forum In Dallas

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Washington, D.C. — The American Meat Institute will host a free exhibitor forum December 13-14, 2011, in Dallas, Texas, for those planning to exhibit at the 2012 AMI Meat, Poultry & Seafood Industry Convention and Exposition, May 1-3, 2012. The event is also being sponsored by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and the United Fresh Produce Association (UFPA).

“AMI Expo has changed completely — new partners, new drayage savings and a new city,” said AMI Vice President of Convention and Exposition Services Anne Halal. “This event gives exhibitors the opportunity to see and hear firsthand how to make the most of this new format.”

Scheduled events include a vendor forum where attendees will benefit from cost-saving discounts, like 10 percent off booth furnishings and 5-10 percent off pre-show marketing. The forum is an efficient way for exhibitors to take care of the logistics of their booths.

This mini-tradeshow just for exhibitors will include representatives from Global Experience Specialists, Freeman, Dallas Convention Center/utilities & catering, CompuSystems/registration, On-Peak/hotels, local transportation/shuttle bus, security, florist, photographer, audio-visual/Production Resource Group, computer rental, Lowe Refrigeration and Map Your Show/online floor plan advertising.

On-site, the exhibitors will hear about the current state of tradeshows and specifically how this co-location can strengthen person-to-person marketing for the food industry.

Participants will have the opportunity to network at a Tuesday Evening Reception, as well as Wednesday’s Continental Breakfast and Vendor Lunch.

Other events include a tour of the Dallas Convention Center and a pre-show promotion clinic, where participants will learn more about AMI Expo’s targeted attendance promotion campaign and pre-show promotion strategies available for exhibitors to help drive more buyers to their booths.

For more information or to register contact Allison Konczyk at 202-587-4233 or akonczyk@meatinstitute.org. There is no registration fee associated with attending this forum.

A special discount hotel room rate of $99 has been arranged at the new Omni Dallas Hotel, which is connected to the Convention Center.  This discounted rate is only available to exhibitors who register by December 1, 2011. To register, contact the Omni Dallas directly at 1-800-843-6664 and mention “Food Industry Exhibitor Forum” or click here to book your hotel room online.

The AMI Expo will be co-located with FMI2012, sponsored by Food Marketing Institute (FMI), the U.S. Food Export Showcase sponsored by the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) and United Fresh 2012, sponsored by United Fresh Produce Association (UFPA). Attendees at the AMI Expo will have access to over 1,200 exhibitors focused on processing and packaging equipment and supplies, plus produce and retailer focused exhibits. The registration fee will also include a full schedule of education programming and networking opportunities.
