The special events will kick off on Wednesday evening with the AMI Environmental MAPS Program Reception, which will recognize the winners of the second annual Environmental Achievement Awards. Introduced last year as a way to honor continued achievement in environmental stewardship, the Achievement Awards celebrate plants that go beyond the program’s environmental compliance requirements.

International guests will receive the VIP treatment during a special welcome reception on Thursday, October 25. Visitors from around the world are invited to relax and network with colleagues and suppliers.

Friday morning, October 26 brings Washington to the Expo with the AMI Washington Insider Breakfast. This popular event offers industry members and insider’s look at what is happening in Washington and how it affects businesses across the country. This event allows for interactive dialogue between a special guest speaker and meeting participants.

Friday evening, October 26, will close with the AMI Chairman’s Gala. This annual celebration brings together friends and colleagues to celebrate a year of success and look forward to the year ahead. Richard L. Bond, president and CEO of Tyson Foods, Inc., will be recognized for his year of service and will pass the gavel to a newly elected chairman. The gala will feature fine food, great wine and live entertainment.

The Washington Insider Breakfast and the AMI Chairman’s Gala are separately ticketed events. The show registration form includes all details. For additional information contact AMI’s Director of Convention and Member Services, Anne Nuttall, at anuttall@meatinstitute.org.
