AMI Statement on Reopening of the South Korean Beef MarketThursday, June 26, 2008
“We are pleased that we will again have the opportunity to provide safe and high quality beef products to our customers in Korea. We have listened very carefully to our Korean customers, and believe that the transitional program we developed with the Korean beef importers to limit exports to South Korea to beef from cattle younger than 30 months of age will improve Korean consumer confidence in U.S. beef.
South Korean consumers, like consumers around the world, have historically enjoyed U.S. beef, and we look forward to regaining the trust of those consumers. The high-quality, grain-fed beef we will be exporting to Korea is the very same beef that we feed our families and export to our trading partners around the world.
U.S. beef plants have been thoroughly reviewed by Korean auditors and we are very pleased that their examination has led to the conclusion that the Korean market should be reopened to U.S. beef.”share on facebook share on twitter
