AMI Names Rita Baker Manager of Convention Services

The American Meat Institute (AMI) today announced that Rita Baker has joined AMI as manager of convention services.

At the Institute, Baker will be responsible for promotion, on-site supervision and coordination of the logistical details for AMI and AMI Foundation seminars and meetings.

Prior to joining AMI, Baker served as a meeting planner with Tascon, Inc., in Rockville, MD. There she managed all meeting logistics for government clients, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and coordinated conference and exhibit registration.

Baker received her bachelor’s in consumer affairs from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.

AMI represents the interests of packers and processors of beef, pork, lamb, veal and turkey products and their suppliers throughout North America. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute provides legislative, regulatory and public relations services, conducts scientific and economic research, offers marketing and technical assistance and sponsors education programs.
