Management and Sales Development Leader to Headline AMI's 2004 Conference on Worker Safety, Health and Human Resources

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dec. 27, 2003: The American Meat Institute Foundation (AMIF) is pleased to announce Leo Bartlett will headline its 16th annual Worker Safety, Health & Human Resources Conference. The 2004 Conference will be held April 18 to 20, 2004, at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix at Civic Plaza in Phoenix.

President of Bartlett Consulting Inc., Bartlett has personally been involved in management training and sales development since 1967, working with individuals and companies to develop their human resources. He was Director of Training and Development for two Fortune 500 companies during his career. Headquartered near Madison, Wis., Bartlett Consulting serve a wide client base nationwide in a number of different industries.

A few of the firm's clients include Kraft Foods, Odom's Tennessee Pride, Cardinal Meat Specialists, Sentry Insurance, Bongrain Cheese USA and Lorillard Tobacco, just to name a few.

As keynote speaker, Bartlett will share with industry attendees his insights from his more than 36 years experience in developing both individuals and companies.

Also headlining this year's Worker Safety Conference is Neil Wasser, of Constangy, Brooks & Smith. Wasser, who specializes in occupational safety and health, equal employment law and wage hour law, will present his annual review and analysis of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and priorities. His presentation, titled, "2003 OSHA Review and 2004 Expectations," will provide a seasoned look at key agency activities and directions.

The 2004 Worker Safety, Health & Human Resources Conference continues as the premier meat and poultry industry occupational safety conference and this year offers yet even more valuable educational opportunities for those involved in worker safety, training, plant management, hiring and managing employees. Conference highlights include sessions focused on:

· Leadership development workshops designed to inspire leadership in companies across all segments of the industry
· Health and wellness programs that cut can costs and increase productivity through effective programming
· Worker safety sessions focused on ergonomics, written safety procedures, electrical safety and PSM for ammonia refrigeration.

In addition, there will be a special dinner at the Conference where award recipients of the AMI/ National Safety Council Worker Safety Awards Program are recognized.

The 16th Annual Conference on Worker Safety, Health and Human Resources is a three-day event and is $585 per person for AMI members, $525 for groups of three or more from the same Member Company and $825 for non-members.
