Bridgford Foods Chairman Allan Bridgford Receives AMI's 1997 Edward C . Jones Community Service Award

Allan Bridgford, chairman of Bridgford Foods Corporation in Anaheim, CA, was named recipient of the American Meat Institute’s (AMI) 1997 Edward C. Jones Community Service Award. The award was presented during the International Meat Industry Convention and Exposition, October 30-November 2 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The award is given to an individual or company that has shown commitment to enhancing the communities in which it is based. The award is named for the late Ed Jones of Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson, WI, who set the industry standard for community service.

Bridgford Foods’ community service efforts are impressive. In Anaheim and in the larger Orange County community, Bridgford and his company have contributed time and money to a wide range of organizations.

Bridgford Foods is a sponsor of the President’s Scholarship at California State University at Fullerton and a generous financial supporter of the California State College Foundation. Bridgford Foods also gives to the City of Hope Cancer Clinic, Second Harvest, United Way and a variety of local school and church activities.

Members of the Bridgford family also are personally involved in their communities. Allan Bridgford serves as chairman of the St. Jude Hospital Capital Fund Drive and its advisory board and as a trustee of the hospital. He was a director of the North Orange County United Way, president of the Fullerton Rotary Club, president of the Troy High Booster Club and is a financial supporter of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, the YMCA and the Boys Club.

William Bridgford is a founder of Padrino, the support group for Children’s Hospital of Orange County. He also has served in leadership roles with the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center, Anaheim Stadium, Anaheim Rotary, California State University Fullerton Foundation and University Advisory Board and Anaheim Rotary.
