AMI Foundation Will Host The 2000 Conference On Worker Safety, Health and Human Resources March 12-15 in San Antonio, TX

The American Meat Institute Foundation (AMIF) will host the 2000 Conference on Worker Safety, Health and Human Resources March 12-15, 2000, at the San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX.

The Conference on Worker Safety, Health and Human Resources a long history of providing industry professionals responsible for worker safety and human resources a forum to learn about the latest developments in managing their employees and providing for their safety and health.

This year’s conference will feature Bruce Wilkinson, president of Workplace Consultants, Inc., as a keynote speaker. Wilkinson is a management consultant, author, workplace trainer and implementation specialist who holds degrees in both safety engineering and occupational safety and health. As president of Workplace Consultants, Inc., he has spoken to corporations, contractors and government agencies in 49 states. Wilkinson returns to the AMIF Conference after rave reviews from participants.

The conference will open Sunday, March 12 with on-site registration and a welcome reception. The conference will feature a mini-expo with industry suppliers on Monday, March 13. The 1999 Safety Awards will be presented Tuesday, March 14 and the featured speaker for Tuesday’s general session will be Neil Wasser, a partner in Constangy, Brooks and Smith LLC.

Dan Hoover, a loss control consultant with Sentry Insurance, will address the final general session on March 15 with a presentation, “Developing a Safety Culture Program Within Your Organization.” In addition, a Combined Human Resources and Worker Safety Committee Meeting will be held March 15 from 7-11 a.m.

Other featured topics for the 2000 Conference on Worker Safety, Health and Human Resources include ergonomics, INS Operation Vanguard, diversity and compliance issues, sanitation safety, internal safety audits, OSHA's VPP Program, OSHA’s Lift Truck Regulation, training contractor safety programs, pre-placement physical evaluations, worksite wellness programs,employee orientation programs and a lockout/tagout roundtable.

Registration for the three day event is $455 for AMI members, $395 per person for groups of three or more from the same member company and $695 for non-members.
