From the Top-Down: AMI Offers a Regulatory and Management track for Senior Management

Arlington, VA -- Two, super sessions headline the Regulatory and Management track at the 2004 AMI Convention and Innovation Showcase. Practical Ergonomics for the Senior Executive and Successful Hiring: Increasing Stability and Profitability From the Line to the Corporate Office are 'in-depth', educational sessions to provide attendees with real-time examples and take-away strategies. These 'super sessions' are 3 ½ hours in length and are scheduled for the first and final days of the convention, held from Sept. 30 - Oct. 2.

Practical Ergonomics for the Senior Executive is designed to demonstrate to upper management how ergonomics can positively impact their bottom line. Regina Barker, Executive Director, Practical Ergonomics will break down how ergonomics can improve efficiency. Thursday, Sept. 30, from 8 – 11:30 a.m.

Successful Hiring: Increasing Stability and Profitability From the Line to the Corporate Office-
Back by popular demand, Leo Bartlett, president, Bartlett Consulting will share the science of matching candidates with jobs, from the line to executive office. Case studies will reveal how these techniques have reduced turnover and increased job satisfaction. Saturday, Oct.2 from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Other convention highlights include:
· On Friday, Oct. 1 (8:30 – 10 a.m.), Regulatory Response—Getting it right the first time will arm the attendees with tools on how to address and respond to regulatory actions. Speakers: Thomas Hoffman, President, TJH Consulting and Brett Schwemer, Partner, Olsson, Frank and Weeda, P.C.
· Risk Analysis in Public Policy Making: Understand risk assessments and how they are used to develop regulation and policy. Learn to use the principles of risk assessments to design food safety strategies. Dr. Craig Hedberg, University of Minnesota will focus on risk analysis from an epidemiological point of view. Come take a look at the surveillance and methods used in order to help design food safety strategies. Mike Kasnia, risk assessor, USDA/FSIS is an invited speaker. Friday, Oct. 1 from 3-5:30 p.m.

Registration is $595 for AMI packer processors and exhibiting suppliers registering though Aug. 27. Non-member packer-processors pay $695 through Aug. 27.
