AMIF Open Registration, Unveils Program for Beef Best Practices Workshop

Washington, D.C., Jan. 6, 2004 -- The AMI Foundation is pleased to announce registration is now open for its second Best Practices for Beef Processing Workshop April 6 and 7, to be held this year at the Westin Crown Center at One Pershing Drive in Kansas City, Mo.

During the two-day conference, leading industry players will discuss key strategies and protocol that will accelerate implementation of strategies, training and food-safety tactics aimed at achieving optimum food safety and product quality throughout processing.

Session leaders include the following experts:

· Dane Bernard, vice president, food safety and quality assurance, Keystone Foods
· Guy Loneragan, Ph.D., assistant professor, beef cattle health and management, West Texas A&M University
· Warren Mirtsching, vice president, customer and technical services, Swift & Co.
· Jim Rathke, general manager, Excel Corp.
· Daniel J. Zelenka, Ph.D., director of statistics, Tyson Foods Inc.
· Randy Huffman, Ph.D., vice president, scientific affairs, AMI Foundation.

The conference will conclude with an FSIS panel.
