Friday, November 17, 2006

Washington, D.C. – An all new OSHA, General Industry (10-hour) Course, specific to meat industry applications, will debut at the 2007 Conference on Worker Safety, Health & Human Resources, April 2-4, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center.

The course was developed by experts from across the industry and from academia. It is the first OSHA General Industry training course to address specific meat and poultry industry exposures and standards. John Wallace, professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will present the course. The cost of attending the course is included in conference registration.

OSHA training courses of this type are designed for those in the private sector who need a sound working knowledge of OSHA standards applicable to their worksites. The courses provide students with a broad basis of knowledge in OSHA standards, and the ability to research OSHA data to find information on specific situations/questions. All participants in this program will be issued OSHA cards verifying course completion.
