The Innovation Showcase focuses on improved services, streamlined systems, cost reduction methods and better business solutions. The hands-on customer evaluation program is designed to highlight industry innovation represented on the show floor.
Evaluations were conducted like a "secret shopper program," with team members visiting assigned exhibitors and evaluating exhibits in the areas of price/value, food/meat safety, worker safety, productivity, technology, marketing, quality, consistency and overall innovation.
The Evaluation Team consisted of 15 packer/processor/academics who either helped plan the Meat Industry Research Conference (MIRC) or serve on the Boards of Directors for the American Meat Science Association (AMSA) or the American Meat Institute.
From a field of more than 120 exhibitors, the following companies stood out for their excellence in innovation at this year’s convention:
- Best & Donovan
- Birko Corporation
- Cooper Instrument Inc.
- Environmental Structures, Inc.
- FNA Foods, Inc.
Label Corporation Ionics/SeparaTech
