President of HACCP Consulting Group Will Give Tips on Preparing for In-Depth Verification Reviews in Live MeatAMI.com Chat

Monday, October 29, 2001

Washington, DC-HACCP Consulting Group President Robert A. Savage will discuss In-Depth Verification (IDV) Reviews during a live MeatAMI.com web chat Wednesday, October 31, 2001, from 11 a.m. to noon EST.

Beginning early next year, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) will begin doing random reviews at meat and poultry plants across the nation. Formerly, the agency would send out IDV teams only on a "for cause" basis. Savage, who is now involved in helping plants prepare for this eventuality, will share suggestions on how to prepare for an IDV and what to expect during and after the review.

The HACCP Consulting Group (HCG) was founded to provide technical and managerial assistance for the development, implementation and maintenance of HACCP programs. Savage has 27 years of experience in the food industry, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and FSIS.
