AMI Portal MeatAMI.com Announces Advertising Opportunities

Tuesday, November 27, 2001

Washington, DC - MeatAMI.com, the American Meat Institute's (AMI) award-winning portal, will now accept paid advertising, AMI announced today.

MeatAMI.com was launched in November 2000 and has become a vital site for members of the meat and poultry industry, the news media and policymakers. Nearly 5,500 people today subscribe to receive AMI news stories and press releases delivered by email. The site also boasts 5,000 visitor sessions each week --and growing.

Among the site's many interactive features are on-line meeting registration, an "Ask the Expert" chat function, a "member lookup" area, a trade alert service to match buyers and sellers, a Crisis Management Center and much more.

While the site is just a year old, its contents date back many years and include historic documents. The site's search function makes MeatAMI.com a vital research tool. The site also provides exclusive password-protected sections accessible only by AMI members.

"Now that MeatAMI.com has clearly positioned itself as a leading provider of news and resources to the meat and poultry industry, we are providing advertising opportunities on the site," said AMI President J. Patrick Boyle.

The advertising opportunities were created in response to member interest. All members will receive 50 percent off the rates charged to non-members. For more information on advertising, visit MeatAMI.com or contact AMI's Manager of Web Content and Graphics Kelly Bishop at kbishop@meatinstitute.org, 703/841-2400.

AMI represents the interests of packers and processors of beef, pork, lamb, veal and turkey products and their suppliers throughout North America. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute provides legislative, regulatory and public relations services, conducts scientific and economic research, offers marketing and technical assistance and sponsors education programs.
