Washington, DC - The American Meat Institute (AMI) announced today that Anne Kane has joined AMI as vice president of convention and member services.

Kane will coordinate logistical and educational arrangements for AMI conventions, seminars and meetings. She also will oversee membership recruitment and retention and monitor service levels.

Before coming to AMI, Kane worked as an account executive with the Convention Management Group, Inc., the group that organizes World Wide Food Expo, a biennial trade show featuring the International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Convention and Exposition, sponsored by AMI.

Prior to working at CMG, Kane worked in government relations for the International Inline Skating Association lobbying local, state and federal representatives on legislation affecting the industry. Earlier, Kane worked as an event manager for Citizens for a Sound Economy. Kane received a B.A. in psychology from George Mason University.

“Anne brings a wide array of skills and experience, as well as a familiarity with AMI, that will be invaluable in meeting planning, convention management and member services,” said AMI President J. Patrick Boyle.

AMI represents the interests of packers and processors of beef, pork, lamb, veal and turkey products and their suppliers throughout North America. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute provides legislative, regulatory and public relations services, conducts scientific and economic research, offers marketing and technical assistance and sponsors education programs.
