Lynn Kosty Joins AMI As Director of Regulatory Affairs

Washington, DC - The American Meat Institute (AMI) today named Lynn Kosty director of regulatory affairs.

In her position at AMI, Kosty will monitor regulatory developments that affect the meat and poultry industry and advocate industry views at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and other federal agencies. She also will help AMI member companies with their individual regulatory issues. Kosty reports to Kim Rice, vice president of regulatory affairs.

Most recently, Kosty served as director of regulatory and scientific affairs for the American Frozen Foods Institute. Previously, she was associate director of food policy for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

Kosty currently is pursuing her doctorate in public policy and public administration at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She received her B.S. in food science and her M.S. in agricultural economics and public policy from the University of Kentucky.

"Lynn Kosty will be an asset to our regulatory affairs team," said AMI President J. Patrick Boyle. "She brings a great deal relevant experience to her position at AMI and will be an excellent resource for AMI member companies."

AMI represents the interests of packers and processors of beef, pork, lamb, veal and turkey products and their suppliers throughout North America. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute provides legislative, regulatory and public relations services, conducts scientific and economic research, offers marketing and technical assistance and sponsors education programs.
