Former Speaker Of The House Newt Gingrich Will Address The 1999 International Meat, Poultry And Seafood Convention And Exposition

Chicago, IL — The American Meat Institute (AMI) and National Fisheries Institute (NFI) announced today that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich will address the general session of the 1999 International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Convention and Exposition in Chicago, IL, October 28-31, 1999.

The 1999 International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Convention and Exposition, held in conjunction with Worldwide Food Expo ’99, is the premier industry event and the world’s best source of information about the meat, poultry and seafood industries. The general session is an opportunity for attendees to hear from qualified authorities about “big picture” topics which directly affect the industry.

Newt Gingrich, one of the most prominent leaders of the late twentieth century, is now on the lecture circuit discussing an issue of vital importance not only to the industry, but to the world as a whole. “Empowering People in the Information Age” is an insightful look at how developments in information systems, mass communications, international economics and manufacturing technology impact and affect everyday life and business.

Gingrich brings to the stage a wealth of experience on a wide range of issues. Having served as Speaker of the House from 1995 to 1998, he was intricately involved in most of the major legislative initiatives of the 1990s, including the first balanced budget in decades and sweeping welfare reform. His background as a professor of history and environmental studies at West Georgia College enables him to present complicated information in a way that is easy to understand.

This is an opportunity to hear from one of the greatest thinkers and most dynamic speakers in America. Outside the constraints of public office, Gingrich is free to comment upon current events in international and domestic politics, including presidential hopefuls and the 2000 elections.
