Cargill's Gregory Page Elected AMI Secretary for 1997-1998 Term

Gregory Page, president of Cargill's Red Meat Group, Inc., in Minneapolis, MN, has been elected to a one-year term as secretary of the American Meat Institute (AMI).

Page's selection came at AMI's Annual Business Meeting, which preceded the 1997 International Meat Industry Convention and Exposition, October 30-November 2 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

Before being named president of Cargill's Red Meat Group in September 1995, Page was president of Cargill's worldwide beef operations, vice president of Cargill's Meat Sector and president of North American Beef. Page joined Cargill in 1974 as a merchandising manager for the Nutrena Feed Division.

Page is a graduate of the University of North Dakota.

AMI represents the interests of packers and processors of beef, pork, lamb, veal and turkey products and their suppliers throughout North America. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the Institute provides legislative, regulatory and public relations services, conducts scientific and economic research, offers marketing and technical assistance and sponsors education programs.
