National Meat Canners Association Elects New Officers and Board Members at Annual Meeting

Washington, DC - The National Meat Canners Association elected new officers and board members at its annual meeting in Key Largo, FL, March 17-19, 2002.

Gary Paxton, Hormel Foods Corporation, was elected as NMCA president; Mark Howell, Crider, Inc., was elected as NMCA vice president; and David Morrison, SAMPCO, Inc., was elected as treasurer and James Hodges was elected as executive secretary for NMCA.

NMCA elected three new members to the Board of Directors: Daniel Cavanaugh, Lakeside Foods, Inc.; David Milbourne, Castleberry/Snow’s Brands, Inc.; Mike Downs, Tony Downs Foods Company, Inc.

The National Meat Canners Association is the national trade association representing processors and suppliers of shelf stable meat and poultry products. NMCA was founded in 1923 to promote the interests of the canned meat industry in the U.S. NMCA members include companies of all sizes, from regional processors to large multi-plant operations.
