Meat Institute to Host Fifth Annual Veal Summit

The North American Meat Institute (Meat Institute), a contractor to the Beef Checkoff, will conduct the Fifth Annual Veal Summit for all producer, packer, processor, distributor, retail and food service partners and state Beef Council staff April 4 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

The Veal Summit will provide an update on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 veal promotion and quality assurance programs, seek input on research and promotion efforts for FY 2019 and conduct an information exchange on the major regulatory and marketing issues that most affect the veal industry.

“The Summit provides the most comprehensive overview of the current state of the veal industry from leading experts and examines important consumer attitudes and trends shaping veal purchases at retail,” said Meat Institute President and CEO Barry Carpenter. “Attendees will benefit from the Summit’s collegial, interactive format, which will foster productive dialogues and encourage individuals to network with, and learn from, fellow professionals.”

The Summit also will feature a presentation by popular food blogger Kita Roberts, more commonly known as “Girl Carnivore.” Additional education sessions will explore the changing retail and consumer landscapes.
