FSIS Posts New askFSIS Question About Pre-shipment Review Pending Receipt of Adulterant Test Results.

USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) posted a new askFSIS question about pre-shipment review, although it makes clear that an establishment must have FSIS test results for adulterants prior to shipment, but that there are various ways to satisfy this requirement.  "The purpose of pre-shipment review is to ensure that the establishment is not introducing adulterated product in commerce," the agency wrote.  "However, the establishment may accomplish this pre-shipment review process in various ways, provided that the establishment has documentation that the product was under its control until it received acceptable test results."   To read the full askFSIS question, click here.
