AMI announced today a new show pattern for the 2012 International Meat, Poultry & Seafood Convention and Exposition, to be held April 30-May 3, 2012, at the Dallas Convention Center. Exhibit hours will be consolidated to three days (Tuesday, May 1, 2012, noon to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, May 2, noon to 5 p.m. and Thursday, May 3, 2012, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

The decision to revise the exhibit schedule was made after careful consideration and examination of exhibitor and audience surveys, traffic density and anecdotal feedback. This is one of many improvements AMI is making to increase the value of the show for processors and return on investment for exhibitors.

The new schedule matches the opening hours of co-located shows being held by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), United Fresh Produce Association (UFPA) and National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA).  In addition, AMI will not hold any education sessions or other official Expo business during exhibit hours.

“We strongly believe that based on the show size, audience demand and proven travel patterns of buyers we are making the best decision for our exhibitors,” said AMI Vice President of Convention and Exposition Services Anne Halal. “Not only will the new consolidated show hours reduce travel expenses for exhibitors, it makes the show a more attractive and affordable option for buyers, as well.

AMI is continuing to take a close look at all opportunities to provide higher value for attendees through better networking, more valuable education and other innovations.
