Attendees at the 2011 AMI Expo will have the opportunity to participate in a disaster relief drive to aid Japanese victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami.

To make a donation, attendees may obtain a donation form onsite, or visit http://www.meatinstitute.org/ht/a/GetDocumentAction/i/68155. Completed forms along with donations may be returned to one of several collection boxes in the AMI Expo registration area, in the International Business Center, at the general sessions and at the AMI booth (1973). Forms may also be returned to any AMI staff member throughout the event.

All funds will go directly to the Japanese Red Cross and are tax deductible. AMI is cooperating with the Japan America Society of Chicago to direct the funds.

“The Japanese people are our great friends and Japan is a valued trading partner.  It is our honor to help them at this trying time as they recover from this difficult natural disaster,” said AMI President J. Patrick Boyle

In addition, Japanese Consul General of Chicago George Hisaeda will be in attendance at the AMI Awards Breakfast where attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with him.
