Deadline for Nominations for AMI Annual Awards is March 10

The deadline for nominations for AMI’s annual awards is quickly approaching. Those wishing to submit nominations must do so by March 10, 2011.

This year, the four annual awards —  the Edward C. Jones Community Service Award, the Supplier of the Year Award, the Scientific Achievement Award and the Industry Advancement Award — will be presented at the AMI Board of Directors Breakfast on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. during the AMI International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Industry Convention and Exposition at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill., and is open to all attendees of the show.

The Edward C. Jones Community Service Award is named for the late Edward Jones of Jones Dairy Farm who was a model of community service.  In his memory, this award honors a company that has shown that same strong commitment to the communities in which it operates. 

The Supplier of the Year Award honors a supplier who has shown a spirit of partnership and has made an outstanding contribution to the success of the meat and poultry industry. 

The Scientific Achievement Award honors an individual from industry, academia or government whose professional achievements have had a significant contribution to the scientific knowledge of the meat and poultry industry. 

The Industry Advancement Award honors an individual, group or company whose work has contributed to the success of the meat and poultry industry.
