AMI Accepting Applications for 2011 Environmental Achievement and Recognition Awards

AMI is now accepting applications for the 2011 Environmental Achievement Awards. These biennial awards recognize companies who strive to go beyond compliance in the environmental and sustainability efforts. Applications are due on Monday, December 20, 2010, and are available for download at http://www.meatinstitute.org/ht/d/sp/i/11491/pid/11491.

Applications for the 2011 Environmental Recognition Awards are also being accepted. This annual awards program honors companies with continuous dedication to environmental improvement.  Applications for this program are due on Friday, January 21, 2011, and are available for download at http://www.meatinstitute.org/ht/d/sp/i/262/pid/262.

 In 2009, nine facilities were honored with Environmental Achievement awards. This year, 141 plants received Environmental Recognition (formerly Environmental MAPS) awards.

The awards presentation will be held on March 9, 2011, during the Conference on Worker Safety, Human Resources and the Environment.
