(American Meat Institute)
The meat industry continues to build on a two-decade record of improvement in worker safety, according to recent numbers released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
In 2008, total recordable injury and illness rates decreased by 10.7 percent, while cases involving days away from work, job transfer or restriction decreased by 9.1 percent.
These results illustrate the value of continued focus on improvement in worker and workplace safety across the entire industry.
