Registration for Center of the Plate Training at Kendall College, to be held Sept.21-22, has been extended until Sept.4. This Center of the Plate Training is a low cost, two-day short course designed to teach participants the fundamentals of meat specifications taught by top industry experts, including Steve Olson of the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service. The course will cover beef, veal, lamb and pork. Attendees will come away with an increased knowledge of center of the plate items and a copy of the North American Meat Processors Association (NAMP) Meat Buyer’s Guide.
Until Friday, members of NAMP, the American Meat Institute or the Chicago Midwest Meat Association pay only $549, and non-members pay $649. A bulk discount is also available. In addition, registrants can still take advantage of the program’s bulk discount- register four people and the fifth one is free.
