FSIS Reissues E. coli Sampling Procedures to Include Provisions for Establishments

USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a new notice (Notice 44-09), which cancels FSIS Notice 18-09 and reissues its content to include provisions for an establishment to request that more than two samples be taken by inspection program personnel (IPP) in one day. This reissued notice also clarifies that any establishment may have written procedures to grind a minimum batch of product that represents the entire lot in a smaller grinder.
