Administration Extends Delay on New Rule Requiring Subcontractors to Use E-Verify Until June 30Thursday, April 16, 2009

The Department of Defense, General Services Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is extending the applicability date of Federal Acquisition Regulatory (FAR) Case 2007-013, Employment Eligibility Verification, until June 30, 2009. The amendment is expected to be published in the Federal Register on April 17, 2009.
The rule, which requires federal subcontractors of any tier to use the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify system to check employees’ work authorization, was scheduled to go into effect January 15, 2009, but has since been suspended so that the new Administration might have time to evaluate the rule.share on facebook share on twitter
