USDA's Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has reported BSE testing results as part of the on-going investigation instituted following the finding of a BSE positive cow from the state of Texas. All of the 67 adult herdmates of the BSE-positive cow tested negative according to USDA. The Bio-Rad test method was used on the adult animals at the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames, Iowa.

International Reference Laboratory in
Weybridge, England, confirmed results of the
positive BSE cow on June 24. APHIS continues to
track animals of interest and testing will be
done as those animals are located.
