AMI joined more than 50 food and related industry organizations in offering input on domestic food security to Tom Ridge, director of the new Office of Homeland Security. The groups contacted Ridge under the auspices of the Alliance for Food Security, a group of industry and government organizations concerned about the issue. In the group letter, Ridge was asked to appoint a senior member of his staff to communicate with the food security group and to meet with group representatives soon.
