Additional FSIS Workshops Address Food Security Planning

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) will hold a series of workshops from May through July 2005, to discuss food security awareness and to address self-assessment checklists, verification procedures and emergency procedures for import inspection.

In addition, the workshops will provide additional guidance about the development and implementation of food security plans for meat, poultry and egg processing facilities, import establishments and identification warehouses. Tools such as the Model Food Security Plans, FSIS Industry Self-Assessment Checklist for Food Security and Food Security Verification Procedures (FSIS Directive 5420.1, Revision 1) will be the focus of these half-day meetings.

May 14, 2005 (Dallas, TX)
May 21, 2005 (Oakland, CA)
Jun 4, 2005 (Chicago, IL or its suburbs)
Jun 11, 2005 (Savannah, GA)
Jun 25, 2005 (Newark NJ)
Jul 9, 2005 (Philadelphia, PA)
