Effective October 25, the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) will begin using a separate user-fee schedule for the Quality Systems Verification Programs (QSVP). AMS will also increase the range of the QSVP to include all agricultural products and services under the Livestock and Seed (LS) Program.
QSVP user-fees were previously
based on the approved hourly rate established
by the Meat Grading and Certification branch
for meat grading and certification services.
However, after the original program development
phase, LS Program management performed a cost
analysis of QSVP services and determined that
the existing hourly rate did not adequately
cover the cost of providing auditing services.
The LS program considered other options to
creating a separate user-fee for QSVP services,
but found none were satisfactory.
