Agencies to Hold Public Meeting on Listeria Risk Assessment and Action Plan

FDA and FSIS (the agencies) will hold a public meeting March 19 to gather public comment on the draft Listeria monocytogenes risk assessment and action plan, which was published in the January 19, 2001, Federal Register.
Comments on the draft risk assessment are solicited in the following areas: 1.) the assumptions, 2.) the modeling techniques, 3.) the data used, and 4.) the transparency of the documents.
The agencies also are extending the comment period to May 14, 2001, since the public meeting is being held near the end of the initial comment period.
The meeting, held in cooperation with CDC, will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Crystal City at 2399 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, VA. The meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
