AMI’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Kim Rice was elected to serve as the treasurer of the International HACCP Alliance at a board of directors meeting held in Chicago in December.

The alliance board also agreed to proceed with plans for hosting a Global HACCP Conference in the fall of 2001. Dates and location will be announced when hotel information is confirmed.
The committee, co-chaired by Robert Savage of the HACCP Consulting Group and Jeff Savell of Texas A&M University, has developed a tentative list of topics for the conference, including an overview of the initial purpose of HACCP versus its present use, the adequate way to address verification and validation, the proper use of risk assessment and management, international concepts of HACCP and the use of prerequisite programs in food safety.
